COVID-19 Safety Protocols



Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, new protocols have been established based on CDC recommendations. Please read all of the COVID-19 protocols before your appointment. Thank you for helping keep all of our patients safe.






The steps for safely performing acupuncture and prescribing Chinese herbal tea during COVID-19:


For the practitioner:

1.The practitioner is fully vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine.

2.The practitioner wears protective gear including a mask at all times.


Office:

1. The office will be modified to remove all decorative items

2. Treatment tables will be covered completely with table paper and changed for each patient.

3. The treatment table, door knob, light switch and other common area will be wiped clean by disinfectant wipes before and after each patient.

4. The office window will be opened to exchange air.

5. The waiting area will be eliminated to reduce cross contamination.


For patients who seek acupuncture treatment:

IF YOU HAVE TESTED POSTIVE FOR COVID-19 OR HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING COVID-19 LIKE SYMPTOMS, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO OUR CLINIC, CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR DIRECTLY!

1. All patients with COVID-19 related symptoms must be free of these symptoms for 14 days. Patients are advised to stay home and contact their primary care doctor or go to ER depending on the severity of the COVID-19 symptoms (see the list below).

2. All patients will be required to bring the initialed and signed updated consent form for COVID-19 to the office.

3. All patients will be required to wear a mask to the office.

4. Patients are asked to stay in the car upon arrival at the parking lot and notify the practitioner who then will do a phone screen before coming in to the clinic.

5. Patients will be provided with hand sanitizer to wash their hands upon arrival at the clinic.

6. Patients may cancel the appointment on the day of the treatment if they start to feel any of the COVID-19 symptoms. No cancellation fees will be applied.

7. Patients are advised to wear loose clothing and bring a blanket for their safety and convenience during acupuncture.

8. Adult patients are advised to enter the clinic alone. If an adult is accompanying a minor during treatment, both the minor and the adult are required to wear a mask while in the room.

9. Use the rest room before coming to the clinic if possible.


For patients who seek herbal treatment:

IF YOU HAVE TESTED POSTIVE FOR COVID-19 OR HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING COVID-19 LIKE SYMPTOMS, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO OUR CLINIC, CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR DIRECTLY!

1. New patients will be screened on the phone for COVID-19 related symptoms before coming in the office.

2. The new patient will bring the intake forms and COVID-19 consent form for the initial consultation in the office.

3. Existing patients will be given the option of a phone consultation. The herbal tea will be available for pick up from the front office at a later time.


The list of suspected COVID-19 symptoms:

Cough, shortness of breath, fever or feeling feverish, fatigue, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, nasal congestion, diarrhea, muscle aches not caused by specific activity such as exercise.
